Vegan on my Face

I’m not really one for beauty blogging, but I thought I’d give it a shot today as I’ve been using some really great vegan products and I thought I’d tell you about them :)

The main one that I’m loving right now is Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic face mask; I’ve never really had bad skin, something that I’m incredibly grateful for, but recently due to stress and bad dietary habits (sorry, not sorry) my skin’s been erupting a little. I have really sensitive skin and it goes bright red at even the merest hint of perfume in products, so I thought I’d head to Lush, and I picked out what they said was the gentlest product they had on offer… My face has never felt more clean and fresh, nor have I ever used a product that felt so natural and good. Literally, it just felt like goodness for my skin. It smells like a big smoosh of blueberries as well, which is a bonus!

None of Lush’s stuff is tested on animals and a grand majority of it is vegan, so I thought I’d share it with you in the hopes that I was recommending something that you’d really love. I was always kind of put off by Lush’s price tags, but it’s actually lasted a lot longer than I thought, and for £6.50 per tub, I’m really happy about the way it makes my skin feel. I think that’s when you know you’ve hit the jackpot with skincare; if a product makes you genuinely happy when you use it, stick to it!

I’m also in a little love affair with the “starry starry night” bath bombs. They make your bath look like a Van Gough painting and it’s a really nice way to relax when you’re all stressy.

Another product I love at the moment is Body Shop’s tea tree foaming cleanser, which I use in the shower every day; it makes my skin really soft and I’ve never used a tea tree product before that hasn’t made my sensitive skin explode, so I really love this! I’m so behind the Body Shop’s ethos as well, and none of their products are tested on animals :)

I don’t really use any other face products (apart from Simple moisturiser), and I don’t think the lipsticks I use are vegan (although I’ve fallen in love with Topshop lipsticks, they make you feel like a diva) so that’s about it from me! Let me know if you liked this post and I might do some more beauty-ish blogging :)

  1. It’s been a long time since I’ve used any of Lush’s face masks but they are great. Probably best saved for when you most need them though given the price tag!

I’ve just started including a few more “beauty” (kind of) posts on my blog as I enjoy seeing them on other peoples’ to find out what cruelty-free/vegan products they are using. I don’t really follow many beauty-only blogs as I don’t buy or use that many products so it’s nice to find new recommendations this way :)
