Spicy Stuffed Pitta

I, like everyone, have a fallback dish that only takes 10 minutes and tastes really good. I’ve been pretty busy this week shuttling between London and my university town so I’ve been making this pretty much every night; which is probably a bad thing for my T-shirts as I have a horrific habit of picking up the entire thing with my hands and taking huge bites, spilling the contents everywhere. And I wonder why I’m still single.

This is ridiculously easy and tastes really good, add as little or as much spice as you want and eat it with your fingers.

Spicy Stuffed Pitta

Spicy Stuffed Pitta


Half a courgette

A few tomatoes

200g of chickpeas

Half a teaspoon of cumin and cayenne pepper

A little oil

Pitta breads to serve


  1. Fry all of the ingredients in a little oil for 10 minutes until golden, then toss in the spices.
  2. Warm the pitta bread and serve.

Makes one
