Attend the Tale of Sweeney Todd…

So, ten weeks ago I was hungover on the bus, and my friend asked me what I was doing today, and did I want to come to theatre auditions with him if I had nothing better to do, and long story short, after a nerve-wracking couple of days I was cast in the ensemble of Sweeney Todd!

It’s been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life so far; I’ve made some really lovely friends, been involved in a sell-out show, and put a huge amount of effort into something I’m really really proud of. It’s been quite a hard term for many reasons, and so being involved with a really positive project has really boosted my confidence and ensured that I’ve made the most out of my time rather than moping around or going off the rails, like I have done before in times of stress. It’s also given me the kick up the bum I needed to start performing at open mic nights with my friends and getting my voice heard a little more; I’ve always loved singing and often busk in London with my guitar, but being picked for an amazing show like this has made me realise how passionate I am about performing, so maybe this will be the start of more singing and acting projects!

Thank you so much to the production team for getting me involved in such an amazing project, and to the wonderful people I met throughout the show – it’s been stressful and fantastic, and I’m so proud of myself and everyone else involved!

Here are some photos of the experience, sorry I wasn’t allowed to take any videos or photos of the actual performances, but I thought you’d enjoy some snaps of us all pissing about backstage :)
