Yes, I am coming to you once more via. The Lancaster University Library… Those of you who follow me on twitter may have noticed an excited tweet about my internet coming back, but unfortunately it was just a tease, and it shut off again almost as soon as I’d sent it. These last two posts have been written out on word, saved on a memory stick and uploaded in the library, much to the confusion of the students around me, so if I haven’t been responding to emails or comments as much as usual, don’t be offended, I literally have been able to blog for about 30 minutes every day. Sucks.
Anyway, to combat the lack-of-internet blues, I decided to make a supercharged berry smoothie! I had mine as a post-run snack, and it made me feel all glowing inside, like I’d done my body some real good, so I hope you try it too and see the benefits. January’s a difficult month for getting out of bed because it’s so chilly outside, but if you drink lots of yummy berries first thing, I find that it’s just the motivation to get up and go (just be mindful of any sleeping flatmates, our blender is insanely loud!) You can probably add just about any fruit you feel like to this, or flax seeds or spirinula powder or something, but this is my basic smoothie recipe to get you up and out of the house :)
P.S. (Edit after I got home) Internet’s back for good now, breathing a sigh of relief :p
Half an apple
Half a banana
Juice of one orange
Around 4 large strawberries
A huge handful each of white grapes and blueberries
- Chuck everything in a blender.
- Drink and smile.
Makes about a pint glass full
