Now, I don’t really believe in detoxing your body after New Years (your liver takes care of that all by itself so you don’t really need to go on a crazy diet to ‘cleanse’ your body, though I do feel much better eating fresh food if I have a hangover), but plenty of you out there have resolutions to get healthier, and I really love fruit, so I thought I’d try out a really refreshing and antioxidant-packed fruit salad to start out the year with! This is Nigella Lawson’s recipe, and it just looked so tangy and delicious that I had to try it out for myself, and I love the wonderful, fresh simplicity of it – hopefully it’s enough to inspire some of you out there to beat your hangovers with fruit!
I hope you all had wonderful New Years celebrations – I had a party at my house, and we let off some of those lanterns at 12 o’clock like the ones they have in Tangled, they were so beautiful! Let me know if you’ve managed to stick to your resolutions so far… I think I’ve got a pretty awesome one: Start off 2013 with an empty jar, and every time something awesome happens, write it down and put it in the jar, then read them all at New Years Eve to see how great that year was! I think that’s a pretty good one, and I’m really looking forward to working on that :)
Happy 2013 everyone!
One huge handful each of blueberries and pomegranate seeds
A squeeze of lime
- Mix all the fruit together in a bowl and squeeze over the lime juice.
Serves 1-3 people, I had this all to myself :)
