I decided to make a few of my Christmas gifts this year, and these ones are my favourites! I made a scarf for my dad, little Christmas truffles for my grandparents, uncle and aunt, some florentines for my mum, and (best of all) a cookie mix kit for my best friend Georgie! Everything else was shop-bought, but I thought I’d give you a little flavour for the sort of thing I make for my family and friends for their presents!
I love these little Christmas truffles, I made them last year, but I only started my blog in March, so I’ve been waiting excitedly all year to make them again and post them, because they’re just so cute! My grandparents loved them last year, and I snuck a few tastes here and there, and they’re really decadent and sweet. I didn’t make them vegan last year, but these actually look better, so I think the soy cream is a good ingredient – but be sure to pick out some green sweets for the holly leaves, I used apple sweets, but they turned out to be yellow instead… Oh well :)
150g of dark chocolate
100g of vegan white chocolate (plus more to melt over the top)
50ml of soy cream
100g of icing sugar
A little cocoa powder
3 teaspoons of vanilla extract
fruit drops to make the holly berries (I picked raspberry and apple because I thought they would be red and green, but they were organic and non-artificial ones, so they turned out to be yellow)
- Melt the chocolate together, then stir in the cream slowly off the heat. Stir in the icing sugar and vanilla, then put in the freezer to firm up.
- Roll into balls and then in some cocoa powder, then put in the fridge to firm completely.
- Melt some more white chocolate and drizzle it over the top of the truffles, then cut up the sweeties and decorate them like Christmas puddings!

Cookie Mix Kit
Basically, choose a recipe (I did my peanut butter chocolate oat cookies) and layer the dry ingredients in a jar, leaving a recipe on the side so they can make some fresh cookies themselves! I can’t wait to give this to her, I think she’ll really like it!
Pretty self explanatory, I knitted a scarf for my dad, and got him some chocolate as well :)
And I also made my mum some florentines, and got her something else as well (she reads my blog so I can’t give it away until tomorrow!)
Have an amazing Christmas everyone!
